(From one of Márta O'Reilly's papers on Medical Intuition) Norman Shealy, in his forward to Caroline Myss’, book Anatomy of the Spirit,(pxii) states “There have been, throughout the ages, talented intuitives and mystics who have sensed the power centers of the human body. . .but . . .Never before has the anatomy of the spirit been so powerfully revealed. Herein lies the foundation for medicine of the twenty-first century.” What is Medical Intuition? The facility of a therapist to recognize energy signals from a client to determine the sources of physical and emotional ailments in a presenting client. This discipline requires an in-depth understanding of human organs and systems as well as some mechanism by which the therapist can access an energetic picture, not unlike the tangible X-ray used by medical doctors. The difference between the diagnostic tools of conventional medicine and the medical intuitive is that access of information is strictly through the intuitive process. This method has recently received mainstream and medical recognition through the work of high profile practitioners. Carolyn Myss’ intuition has been used in solving crimes as well as diagnosing difficult to diagnose ailments in consultation with police and physicians respectively. The work of Norman Shealy M.D., neurosurgeon, has been highly publicized and recognized world wide as a respected tool to enhance the accuracy of medical diagnoses. In this work, there is only one expert, the client’s body. The role of a Medical Intuitive is to pay attention to the body without censoring, questioning, analyzing or bringing any preconceived frames of reference. This work is particularly helpful for providing information regarding conditions that may have eluded traditional methods of diagnosis or comprehension. "Medical Intuition is not a healing modality, rather a tool to give an accurate portrait of what is going on in the client’s body. It is an impeccable art of paying attention to gain accurate insight into the presenting symptoms of a client. The body can offer information regarding the roots and influences of the present condition, what it wants and does not want and a physical, emotional/spiritual portrait of what is currently going on. A Medical Intuitive does not diagnose or offer healing recommendations. They may receive requests and information regarding certain healing modalities from the client’s body and relay this information, uncensored to the client. The client may choose to bring the body’s information to their healing team. Some Medical Intuitives are also trained in other healing modalities and may combine the information gained from a Medical Intuition Body Scan with other healing modalities they provide.
